Beef Shares
We are thrilled to be able to offer custom Beef Shares to you this year!
HOW IT WORKS:
-Select a Quarter, Half or combination of shares to fit your family and friend’s freezers for the season.
-Pay a deposit to hold your section of beef and cover processing fees; DEADLINE: June 24th.
-Choose the cuts from the butcher by filling out this cut sheet; DEADLINE: June 24th.
Please put any notes about cuts in the comments section: i.e. meat:fat ratio in ground beef, packaging weights, and questions.
You must REQUEST bones, fat, and organs in order to receive them at no additional charge. Fat will not be rendered.
-Pick-up at Closter Farm & Livestock Co., 681 Closter Dock Rd., between 9am-6pm on June 30th-July 5th.
Frequently Asked (Questions) Answers:
-The price per pound is $12. You will pay a deposit today to hold your Share. We will deduct your deposit when you pick up and charge the balance based off the weight of the Share. Please consider cash or check.
-Generally, a quarter beef will come out to ~$1200, and a half share will come out to ~$2400.
-All beef are 100% grass-fed and finished on certified Organic pasture in the Catskill region of NY on our sister farm, Catskill Farm & Livestock Co.
-The cattle are black Angus, built for roaming hilly pastures, fantastic marbling, and flavor.
-All cuts come FROZEN, packaged by the butcher.
-Any questions about the cut sheet, please email farmer@closterfarm.com. Please note that the butcher will make cutting decisions based on your cut sheet and the animal’s anatomy. Any discrepancies between the cut sheet and the final product are at the butchers discretion and non-refundable.
-Each steer (that’s a male cow, not a bull) is different, weighs-in different, and will come out a bit different. You are literally purchasing a section of the animal and there are mutually exclusive, and limited cuts. This means that you will be receiving an assortment similar to the Samples outlined below and based on your cut sheet.
-You will need ~5 cu ft of freezer space PER 1/4 beef. A Half beef 10 cu ft and a Whole share will require 20 cu ft.
-We are unable to offer the Good Food Bucks discount for beef shares for EBT users, but EBT is accepted for this item.
